How it works
on the planet.
Everything about putting a project on the planet: what each place gives and costs, what the figures count, and how stars, medals and cards work.
Getting started
- Add your project: give its website, then check the name, short line, description and logo read from it.
- Choose a country, then a spot inside it. One country at a time: more can be added later.
- Choose how it shows: a point, a logo or the whole country for a term; then, if you like, a beacon over it or a living surface for the country.
- A new project appears as soon as it passes our automatic check. If a moderator recently turned down an account's projects or edits, a moderator checks them first, usually within a day.
- At the end your project's card is ready to share: a post about the project brings you stars.
Every way onto the planet
Everything a project can have on the planet, with its price. A logo stays for good and a point for a year; the rest runs for a term. Nothing renews by itself.
- A whole countryThe whole country in your colour, your logo in its middle: a tap anywhere opens your project. Full analytics for the term and 30 days after.from $297, 30 or 90 days
- A pointYour place on the planet, with a card and a button to your website.$1a year
- A logo and the catalogYour logo instead of the point, a place in the catalog and a page of its own.$19for good · $18 more from a point
- FeaturedA gold badge by your name, first place in the catalog and in New projects, full analytics.$99a month · $249 for 3 months · $799 for a year
- More countriesThe same project in up to 60 countries, with a point in each.$1for each country
- A surface for the countryOne of three surfaces in your colour: silk, water light or metal leaf.from $197, 30 or 90 days
- A beaconto any pointA column of light over any of your points, seen from afar as the planet turns.from $197, 30 or 90 days
A point
$1 a year. The simplest way onto the planet.
- Your point stands where you put it. Its card shows your project's name, its country and a button to your website.
- It stands for a year. Keep it another year for the same price, or put your logo in its place for good. Nothing renews by itself.
- You can move it once a day.
- A point has no page of its own and takes no stars; a logo brings both.
- A point can stand in any country, even one another project lights for a term.
A logo and the catalog
$19, for good — or $18 more when your project already stands as a point.
- Your logo takes the point's place, and its card shows your short line and description.
- Your project joins the catalog, where people come looking for things to try, and gets a page of its own, where people can give it stars.
- Each step up costs only the difference: what you paid before still counts.
Analytics
Full analytics come with Featured while it runs, or with a whole country, from its booking until 30 days after it ends.
- Analytics count how often your project was seen on the planet, how often its card and page were opened and how many visits it sent to your website — over 7 and 30 days — and where people came from.
- They also show your audience — countries, devices, systems and browsers — and 90 days of history.
- Every place counts on its own, so each country shows its own figures.
- A point or a logo alone shows no figures. Nothing is estimated or made up.
- The logo with analytics is sold no more; projects that bought it keep their figures for good.
More countries
$1 a year for each more country.
- The same project can stand in up to 60 countries, with a point in each.
- Every point wears the project's look: its logo once it has one, and one set of analytics for them all.
- Each country becomes a place in your dashboard, with its own figures, beacon, short line and link.
- To add one, press Add in your dashboard or on the planet and choose “One more country for …”.
A whole country
$29 for 7 days · $59 for 30 days · $149 for 90 days
- The whole country takes your project's colour, with your logo in its middle, and a tap anywhere in it opens your project — no aiming at a small point.
- Up to five periods can be booked after the current one: each goes to whoever books it first and starts when the one before it ends.
- Full analytics come with it, for the term and 30 days after.
- It also leaves your logo in that country for good: when the term ends, the logo stays there.
- A surface — one of 3 finishes, all in your project's colours — can dress the country for its term, at the same prices.
- Every country costs the same, and nothing renews by itself.
- Near its end, your dashboard offers to extend your country while the next period is still free.
- In a country another project lights, you can put your point now or book the period after it.
A beacon
$19 for 7 days · $39 for 30 days · $99 for 90 days
- A column of light over one of your points, seen from afar as the planet turns.
- Each of your points can have its own beacon, with its own term and colour; the colour changes for free.
- A new term starts right after the one that is burning, so no day is paid for twice.
Featured
$99 for a month, $249 for 90 days or $799 for 1 year.
- A gold badge next to your project's name wherever it appears.
- First place in the catalog and among the projects a search on the planet finds, and on top of the planet's New list, where Featured projects take turns.
- Full analytics for the whole term.
- Real gold leaf on every country of the project while Featured runs, free: switch it on in the dashboard.
- A year costs $389 less than twelve months.
- Stars and medals are not for sale: Featured does not change Top projects.
Stars
How people back the projects they like. Stars cannot be bought.
- Press ★ on a project's card on the planet, on its page or in Top projects, and it gets one of your stars; every press gives one more. You need to be signed in. Stars you give stay with the project.
- Stars go to projects with a page of their own; a $1 point takes none.
- A star for each day you come by signed in; days are counted in UTC. Days in a row bring a bonus: +1 on day 3, +2 on day 7, +4 on day 14 and +8 on day 30. Miss a day and the count starts again. After day 30, every 30 days in a row bring +8 again.
- One more star, once, when your first project stands on the planet.
- Five more for each post about your own project on social media: share it from its page, then send the link to the post there. A moderator looks at it after 4 hours, and it counts if the account has 50 or more followers; each post counts once.
- Your stars are in your account menu; authors also see them at the top of the dashboard. Up to five posts can wait for a check at a time.
- Top projects lists projects by the stars they got this week, Monday to Sunday (UTC), and in a tie, the one that got there first is higher.
Medals
Gold, silver and bronze for the week's most-starred projects.
- Each Monday, the three projects given the most stars in the week before — at least 5 each — win gold, silver and bronze. In a tie, the one that got there first wins. The same goes for each month (at least 15 stars) and each year (at least 50): their medals come on the 1st.
- A medal stays for good: on the project's page, in your dashboard and as a card to share.
- You hear of it in your notifications and by email.
- #1, #2 and #3 in Top projects show this week's race as it goes; the medals come on Monday.
Your dashboard
Your project on top, its places under it.
- The card on top is your project: its logo, name, status, medals and the ways to see it; Featured stands under them while it runs. Your other projects are in the menu at the top.
- Under it, every country your project stands in — what stands there and until when — and Add, with everything the planet offers.
- The project's own tabs: Overview for its next step and its figures, Project for its name, words and pictures, and Share for its medals and cards.
- Choose a country for its own tabs: Overview for what stands there, its figures and its next step, Manage for the point, the whole country, the beacon, the short line and the link, and Share for its cards and its page.
- Tap the project, or the chosen country again, to come back to the project's own tabs.
- The bell tells you when a project goes live, a check is done, a country's period begins or is ending, a post brought stars, a project reaches 10, 50 or 100 stars, or a medal or a new card is won — by email too, unless you switch it off.
Your line and your link in each country
Short line for a country
- Whoever opens your project in that country reads this line instead of your usual one — say, in the country's language.
- It shows on your logo's card, the country's card and the country's page; a $1 point's card shows only the name and the country.
- It goes live as soon as you save it, after the same automatic check as any edit. Free.
Link for a country
- Cards in that country lead to this link instead of your website — say, your page in the local App Store, or your site in the country's language.
- It may lead to your own site, or to your project's page in the App Store or Google Play: anywhere else would take visitors past the check. Free.
What we accept
A project goes live as soon as it passes our automatic check; when the check has doubts, a moderator looks first, usually within a day. Moderators also look at projects already live.
- Any working product made by people: an app, a website, a tool, a game, a side project, open source.
- Its site opens and says what it is; the name, the words and the pictures on the planet are about it.
- We don’t take adult content, gambling, crypto token sales and investment schemes, drugs, weapons, pharmacy and pills, fraud and fakes, hate and violence, or a copy of someone else’s product.
- A project not taken is told why: fix it and ask for another check from the dashboard.
